Clavé
Antoni Clavé (Barcelona, 1913 – Saint-Tropez, 2005) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and set designer. Associated with informalism and abstraction, he explored material, collage, and relief. Exiled in Paris after the Civil War, he engaged in dialogue with Picasso and theater. His work blends gesture, symbol, and visual poetry, with international projection and presence in museums and collections. Notable are his material series, illustrated books, and set designs — a reflection of a solid, experimental career acclaimed worldwide.
