Diego Cabezas

Following Massimo Dutti’s support and dissemination of contemporary art in opening its last and majestic flagship store on Barcelona’s Paseo de Gracia, the company now brings out the second chapter of this project and a new collaboration in an equally unique scenario: the new flagship store opened at Juana de Vega, 17 in the shopping district of A Coruña.

The almost 2000 m² of the new concept store have become the ephemeral stage for a masterpiece by the young Galician sculptor Diego Cabezas. This artist’s best-known works are wrought iron sculptures based on the abstraction of human figures and undulating curves. His passion for wrought work comes from a project where he had to learn to forge iron.

Since then, he has arduously researched the process of working this material and its artistic possibilities, perfecting other techniques like embossing. His sculptures play with the three dimensions, either in the volume and solidity of the iron or with the simple and poetic line that plays with the projection of its own shadow.
