Art in Progress
The Bones of the Earth
(Los Huesos de la Tierra)
Massimo Dutti presents a new chapter in its Art in Progress project with a collaboration with the Galician artist Pamen Pereira at the flagship store on Barcelona’s Paseo de Gracia.
To coincide with the first anniversary of the launch of the brand’s emblematic flagship store in the heart of Barcelona, Massimo Dutti presents a new chapter in its project to support and promote contemporary art by pairing up with Galician artist, Pamen Pereira.
Pamen Pereira is a well-known artist who works on drawing, sculpture, painting, art installations, photography, video or any material that can be transformed. Her creative process is generally fused with her life experience and is very closely linked to the natural world, from where she extracts most of her images.
“
Nobody exists in a vacuum or disconnected from others, the reality of life is all-encompassing, without exclusion, moving freely but completely independent.

The work
A cascade of plastic foam stones covered in cement, they are each given a distressed finish and create the effect of being suspended in the air. They are accompanied by resin swallows sprayed with cement to make them look as if they are made of stone.
