THE DUO FORMED BY MAFALDA MUÑOZ (INTERIOR DESIGNER) AND GONZALO MACHADO (PHOTOGRAPHER) PRESENTS CASA MUÑOZ, A SPACE FOR INTERIOR DESIGN THAT OPENED AT THE TIME OF THE PAIR’S SUCCESSFUL ART GALLERY in 2014, MACHADO – MUÑOZ THE FIRST ART GALLERY DEDICATED TO DESIGN AND CONTEMPORARY FURNISHINGS, WHICH OPENED IN MADRID.
Three years ago, the Machado – Muñoz gallery opened its doors, a space dedicated to design and contemporary furnishings. It was an initiative from a young married couple, Mafalda Muñoz and Gonzalo Machado, both artists who came together to create this innovative contemporary art project.
Mafalda studied interior architecture and then went on to study a Master of Art from Christie’s the University of Glasgow. Following stints at Casa & Jardín and a design studio in Paris, she decided to create her own gallery in collaboration with her husband, Gonzalo. Gonzalo Machado trained in industrial design and is a well-known photographer whose work is regularly used in the industry’s most prestigious magazines.

The philosophy behind the Machado – Muñoz gallery is based on the couple’s fascination with everyday objects, leading them to an endless search for limited edition pieces they know will be a hit with design collectors.
And it is this artistic passion which has led Casa Muñoz, to this new adventure, a space to create interiors with the couple’s characteristic stamp of exclusivity: offering made-to-measure projects that are perfect for the customer, while always respecting the space’s architectural pedigree and selecting unique, signature pieces.
