Massimo Dutti’s Art Tour project was launched to promote the creativity of local artists around the world. One of the brand’s latest collaborations was with artist Francesca Leone at the Milan store on Via Dante 7 during the city’s fashion week.

FRANCESCA LEONE

Francesca Leone was born in Rome into a family of artists. She graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Rome under the guidance of Professor Lino Tardia. Her exhibition career kicked off in 2007 with her participation in an exhibition curated by Claudio Strinati for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, which was displayed at the Capitoline Museums in Rome. Since then, she has participated in countless international cultural and artistic events. Francesca Leone’s painting has an elegant texture, both subtle and attentive to individual details.

Her work is based on the notion of time. Looking at it, we can see how the rust that oxidises the metal scratches it, scars it over time. The artist works on this “skin”, delicately insinuating colours, masking the wounds. It is in this dialogue of memories that Leone builds her own visionary narrative, where a suffering Nature demands a pause, as these pieces whisper, inviting us to stop, to give space to our thoughts and to let dreams come to the surface. Taking your time means allowing yourself the privilege of a look, giving art time to write its own story. A rebellious gesture to let a new utopian thought, a new allure emerge.

“THE NOTION
OF TIME IS THE
FOUNDATION
OF HER
WORK”

The collaboration between the artist and Massimo Dutti showcases a piece that challenges us to reflect on the relationship between man and nature, underscoring the importance of uniqueness. Choosing Massimo Dutti’s flagship store in Milan as the venue for this art reflects the convergence of artistic expression, nature and the store’s minimalist aesthetic. The exhibition will be open to the public until 26 February and is an invitation to art and fashion lovers to dive into an exciting visual journey to explore the duality of life through the artist’s eyes.
