Super Cup Final GCL
Madrid In Motion has been crowned the first champion of the GCL Super Cup in the O2 Arena in Prague. The obstacles horse jumping team, sponsored by Massimo Dutti, put the finishing touch on a season heaped with success. The sixteen best teams of the Global Champions League season faced off in an exciting tournament of knockout rounds that lasted for four days.
Jan Tops turned the equestrian sport upside down three years ago with the creation of the Global Champions League. After the resounding success of this new model of team competitions, the winner of a gold Olympic medal for the Netherlands is the creator of the GC Prague Super Cup- within the new format for the Prague Play Offs. The sixteen best teams of the season came together in the O2 Arena in Prague to compete for a trophy worth €6.4 million.
Reaffirming its commitment to sponsorship of showjumping events, Massimo Dutti has been present at several of the most important international events held under the banner of the Longines Global Champions Tour. 19 teams participated in this circuit consisting of 16 competitions. €35 million were given out in prizes; with an individual final in Doha, and a super final for teams and an individual super Gran Prix held in Prague from December 13th to 16th.
Sponsored by Massimo Dutti, the winning team of the GCL Super Cup, Madrid in Motion, is made up of renowned riders Maikel van der Vleuten, his father Eric van der Vleuten, Marc Houtzager, Eduardo Álvarez Aznar and Michael G. Duffy. They all took part and achieved the ultimate title in a tour where the jockeys and showjumping horses present were the best of the best.
