What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Happiness or for that matter “perfect happiness” is a state of bliss when ones inner and the outer world align for a brief moment.

When did you start in the fashion industry and how?

I have worked as a model since a young age but never pursued it as a career. I went on to study fine arts in Amsterdam until one day the opportunity came by to work with incredible photographers, designers and high-end fashion houses. It changed my life forever!

What is your most distinctive trait?

I like to work on very detailed things. I am a weaver and the time I spend in preparing a loom and weaving very slow-paced projects brings my quality of being patient come to life.

What is your best source of inspiration?

Feeling inspired is like an explosion inside. My heart starts beating faster and a rush of warm blood streams fast paced towards my heart and hands. A desire to create, to use my hands, act upon this desire arises.
The thing that inspires me can be literally anything; a sentence I overhear from a person on the street, an image, an act of kindness by a stranger, a blue sky, the forest, a book…. possibly its beauty I find most inspring.

What is your fetish garment?

A scarf. To me it is the most versatile piece of clothing. It represents the basics of dressing, wrapping around your body, keeping you warm from cold weather, but equally protecting you from scorching sun. It can add a dash of colour to a dark look.

What is your motto in life?

No lotus without mud, no light without darkness. To live means we need to encounter both sides. It is the natural balance of life itself. We just need to look around us, for example look at the decay in nature. After a dark winter there is always spring, flowers blossom again. We can take this analogy and use it for our own life. We will encounter spring again despite of hard times.

The project of your dreams is …

I take small steps. Right now, I am working on a writing project. At this point my dream is to see this project finished! Writing is a slow process for me….
But on a more global level I also dream. I dream, like many of us, for peace in the world, I dream of a more equal world, I dream of a world where my Luna and all the little Luna’s of this world can live in harmony and peace with each other and the world around them.
