Art In Progress

Moza Saracho. Mexico City

Massimo Dutti’s Art Tour project was launched to promote the creativity of local artists around the world. The project last teamed up with the artist Moza Saracho, coinciding with Latin America’s biggest fair for art galleries, celebrated in Mexico City.

Moza Saracho’s background in art is rooted in her academic training at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris and New York University, as well as her prolific exploration of materials and techniques during her career as a set and costume designer for film, theatre, opera, the New York ballet, and more.

MOZA SARACHO

The artist has chosen to exhibit a piece that seeks to read reality in a way that extracts its visual grammar. The “molecular” components in her art, her vision and certain forays into deconstruction are how she relates to and engages in a critical dialogue with the world. In the artist’s own words, her passion as an artist is to use her vision to create, represent, reflect and find the inner beauty in terrifying moments of circumstances, experiences and stories. And her intention is to understand the world, challenge it, represent it through her own visual language. Life, reality and truth.

“Equilibrio Molecular (Molecular Balance)” is a piece that transcends abstraction to represent life because the artist suffered a thrombosis that challenged her physical and emotional balance; the result is the central piece of this collaboration, a sculpture that seeks to express the fragility and balance of life. The exhibition also features “Ballet Molecular”, a collaboration with Alondra de la Parra and Christopher Wheeldon that promises to take viewers through a journey of motion, energy and controlled chaos across three different canvases that defy conventional understanding.

The collaboration between the artist and Massimo Dutti is a powerful exploration of the value of movement and balance. Choosing Massimo Dutti’s flagship store in Masaryk as the venue for this part reflects the convergence of artistic expression, nature and the store’s minimalist aesthetic. Moza Saracho’s exhibition will be open to the public until 11 February and is an invitation to art and fashion lovers to dive into an exciting visual journey to explore the duality of life through the artist’s eyes.
