The Cotton House Hotel towers imposingly at the former headquarters of the “Fundación Textil Algodonera” (Cotton Textile Foundation), an emblematic building dating from the 19th Century in neoclassic eighteenth century style that is an absolute referent in the city of Barcelona.
Barcelona – Cotton house hotel
The building, which was commissioned to be built by a family of the Catalan high bourgeoisie during the heyday of the textile industry, was sold towards the middle of the 20th Century to the Cotton Guild that established its headquarters within the same in order to accommodate the highest possible number of organizations and services dedicated to cotton: the idea was to create a true House of Cotton.
Finally, and upon the initiative of a group of hotel promoters from Barcelona, the building started to undergo an intense process of reformation that would culminate in January of 2015, giving rise to the gorgeously precious Cotton House Hotel. The restoration project has put in painstaking care to maintain and recuperate all the original elements of the building. The acclaimed interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán has been in charge of decorating all the rooms of the hotel, reflecting a contemporary and sophisticated style that in turn incorporates all the necessary functionalities to guarantee service and comfort at the level of luxury that the customers expect.
