Picasso & Maya
Father and daughter
The Gagosian Gallery hosts the first exhibition of works that Pablo Picasso dedicated to his eldest daughter, Maya.

The Gagosian Gallery presents the first exhibition of different portraits that Picasso dedicated to his eldest daughter, Maya, whom he had with his muse, Marie-Thérèse Walter. The exhibition presents most of the works painted between 1930 and 1950 and also includes a small collection of portraits of Maya and of Marie-Thérèse, small sculptures and drawings. All these works belonged to Pablo Picasso’s private collection until his death in 1973.
“
All of these images are incredibly true to life. Everything is here: the clothes I wore as a little girl, my toys…
— Maya Ruiz-Picasso, 1996
