Dia Art Foundation, is considered “a pioneer in converting industrial buildings into sites specifically designed for contemporary art”; its museum means 22,000 m2 for exhibitions, where megalomania has found its perfect spot. Its founders, Heiner Friedrich and Philippa de Menil, prestigious patrons of the avant-garde art of the 60s and 70s, own a big collection of works from emblematic fellows such as Andy Warhol and Donald Judd. During the summer, it organizes collective readings and several events.
