Les Deux Magots
Les Deux Magots

It is always pleasant to visit one of those cafes with a literary feel to it, like Les Deux Magots, a visit you can’t miss if your are in Paris. It is one of the oldest cafes in Europe, where Verlaine and Rimbaud used to meet. Its origins date back to 1885 when a grocery shop, founded in 1812 turned into this cafe. Its name means something like “two Chinese statues” and it refers to the old shop and its two wise Chinese men. The coffee at Les Deux Magots tastes different. To have a coffee with biscuits or a butter baguette there for breakfast is a real treat. There is also a restaurant open at lunch time serving all type of dishes and where the service is impeccable.
