MAXXI
Roma
MAXXI is the first national contemporary art museum in Italy. Created as a space for cultural experimentation and innovation, its collections include works from all kinds of disciplines (painting, sculpture, video art, photography, etc.) and it frequently organises workshops, conferences and artistic performances. The museum building, designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid, is also part of the centre’s exhibition. Its interlocking concrete walls, open glass ceilings, and curved suspended stairs make it one of the most interesting contemporary buildings in Rome artistically speaking.
