Massimo Dutti’s Art ln Progress project was created with the mission to promote the talent and creativity of local artists from around the world. Esther Gatón has been one of the 7 artists chosen to exhibit a selection of her work in the shop at Paseo de Gracia 96, coinciding with the fashion show of the latest Limited Edition collections. The exhibition will remain open to the public until 20 October.

Esther Gatón
Esther Gatón’s practice spans sculpture, audiovisual works, installation, and text. Her site-specific environments often distort the meanings associated with various materials, engaging with how objects interact with their surroundings rather than the objects themselves. Her work frequently explores sensuality through artisanal techniques, bringing together disparate materials in a game of seduction, where organic and bone-like forms emerge and interact with their environments.
Her work has been exhibited in institutions such as Capc (Bordeaux), Matadero, CA2M Museum, La Casa Encendida (Madrid), and Patio Herreriano Museum (Valladolid). She has also published writings in ‘El Estado Mental’, ‘Materiales Concretos’, ‘Nero’, ‘A Desk’, and ‘Urbanomic’.

Linen fabrics died with turmeric, beetroot and iron solution, steel bars, brackets, oil pastel and watercolour. The pieces have images on both sides.

Recent accolades include awards from the London Art Council and a-n Bursaries. She is represented by Cibrián Gallery (Donostia) and Irène Laub Gallery (Brussels). VASTO Gallery offers a broad spectrum of artistic expression, encompassing introspective explorations of identity and thought-provoking socio-cultural and environmental activism.
