THE HAMPTONS GETAWAY

PHOTOGRAPHER: LUIS RIDAO / STYLING: MARINA GALLO

North Winds

Few places raise as much interest among the New Yorker intellectual high society as this group of villages (East Hampton, Bridgehampton, Southampton, Montauk, Sag Harbour…) along Long Island’s coast in New York.

Soft places, cashmere wool and lightly knitted fabric and the subtle reminiscence of luxurious athleisure. Nothing may ever stand out or appear too new. That’s the Hamptons style.

Sense and Sensibility

The look of the Hamptons is defined by wood, furniture with clean lines, neutral colours, nature, the sea and natural light.

History and Tradition

The descendants of the English, the whalers, fishers and farmers, were the first settlers. Eventually, the Hamptons opened their first small business and are now the colony for elite vacation from Manhattan since the late 19th century.

Collections like the one by Massimo Dutti define the rules of well dressed in association with the values of the preppy style prescribed by such a special environment.

The looks always play with changing traditions and give a nod to spontaneity and optimism.
