Massimo Dutti organized an exclusive workshop for a small group of international influencers in which a firm of local artisans showed participants local shoemaking techniques that respect traditions and innovate, putting the essence of Ibiza at their feet.
THE WORKSHOP
No two pairs are the same. Everything depends on the cordellí (the plaiting of the cord), its thickness, the artisan (usually women) who assembles the item or weaves the cloth, or how the dyes were blended. Every piece requires 23 six-feet lengths of cordellí. These are unique, imperfect pieces, since it is the wearer that gives the shoes the form of their own feet.
THE LUNCH
To round off the encounter, Massimo Dutti organized a pleasant lunch in a space specially decorated for the occasion, in a relaxed, rural atmosphere. It was an enjoyable moment for all participants, who were treated to a menu of traditional recipes typical to Ibizan cuisine.
