The House

Massimo Dutti chooses Saint-Tropez and one of its mythical mansions as the setting for his latest women’s collection. A house that once witnessed the (passionate) love story between the iconic actress Brigitte Bardot and one of her husbands, the German billionaire Günter Sachs.

French Riviera

Saint-Tropez lived its best days of glory when the French ‘nouvelle vague’ chose it as a summer destination in the 60s.

It is almost impossible to think of Saint-Tropez, that small village in the south of France that was originally simply a fishing cove, without thinking of one of the most iconic actresses of French cinema: Brigitte Bardot. It was after becoming the set of the movie “And God Created Woman”, starring the actress and directed by Roger Vadim in the 1950s, that the small fishing village became a favorite spot for the ‘celebrities’ of the time and one of the most popular beaches on the Côte d’Azur, a status it holds to this day. Those were the days when the celebrities of the ‘Nouvelle Vague’ turned the way of living into ‘joie de vivre’. The beaches have been visited by celebrities from all over the world, from Alain Delon, Jean Michel Jarre, Jane Birkin and Catherine Deneuve in the 60’s, to Beyoncé, Angelina Jolie, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, later on.

Great love stories are linked to Saint-Tropez, such as that of Brigitte Bardot and Günter Sachs. And their story, although short, took place in mythical settings such as this house.

Great love stories are linked to Saint-Tropez, such as that of Brigitte Bardot and the German multimillionaire, Günter Sachs, both paradigms of the good life. The love affair between them was immediate and the wedding was quick and secret. They were the star of the moment and the businessman, millionaire, art collector, playboy who threw a thousand flower petals from a helicopter in their honor. And their story, although short, took place in mythical settings such as this mansion in Saint-Tropez. A wonderful house that follows the local architectural canons of the South of France, surrounded by a beautiful garden and open to the Mediterranean.
