Among the various projects undertaken by Oriol Elcacho in his new personal and professional phase is the creation of ‘Traca i Mocador’, arevolutionary red wine that brings together the great traditions of the DO Montsant.

An initiative from two friends who enjoy doing something they are passionate about, whose result is a young, fresh red wine with a very marked personality.

It all started one hot summer afternoon when Josep Borràs, Oriol’s childhood friend whose family owns the Mas de les Vinyes estate, proposed the idea of undertaking a winemaking project together.

Josep’s family comes from a long tradition of winemaking; his grandfather Emilio started producing wine more than 70 years ago. And from a conversation between two old friends, the idea emerged to create a label of their own. After two years of intense work, they started to see results. A tasty, fresh and noble red wine that they named Traca i Mocador, a Catalan expression that translated would be something like ‘worth tipping your hat for’.

In his first venture into the wine world, far from the runway and international fashion editorials, Oriol Elcacho has been 100% involved in the creative side of the brand and its design (both the bottle and label), as well as in the communication and marketing strategy.
